amiibo Home Movies are mostly an excuse to play with my toys, learn a little about shooting video, practice using my DSLR, and bring a dim lantern into the dark corner of my brain where I keep all of my Premiere editing knowledge.
If I ever do another one of these, there's a couple of things I'll definitely work on: Setting the white balance on my camera (I know how to do that now), put together a more robust lighting setup, get someone else to do VO, and most importantly — keep having fun.
I think these are fun shorts, though your mileage may vary. When I watch them it reminds me of just how enjoyable the experience of producing them was.
