If I could ever get another gig working exclusively in cinematics I'd jump at the chance. From the standpoint of professional fulfillment, my work on this game is right there at the top.
I was the developer-side producer, on-stage producer for the mocap shoots, localization producer, and more!
I implemented several of the cinematics in the game and even wrote the casting dialog for a few of the characters.
One of the greatest compliments I've ever gotten came from Jim Meskimen. He played Rosco LaRoche. I wrote the casting dialog for this particular character (and give him his first name by the way). During his first day on the shoot Jim asked me, "Hey, when are we going to shoot that speech I auditioned with?"
I said, "Oh, that was just the casting dialog. It's not actually in the game."
"That's a shame. It's my favorite bit of dialog."
Wow.
It wasn't all peaches and cream though. It was a grueling job, and while I won't say that I emerged from that project a forged, fully formed producer...
I will say, do you remember that scene in The Two Towers where Saruman watched as the Uruk-hai emerged fully formed from the mud of Orthanc. Yeah? Okay. Just asking.
